Recently Noam Chomsky posted an article at Huffington Post which has 9/11 as it's focus and alternative response scenarios ten years later. What I want to draw to your attention is the information early in the post about how the goal of Bin Laden was to bankrupt the country and how we played right into the devil's hands with our knee jerk response. And we continue to do so. I've said the same thing several times on FB and no one seemed to care. So I am saying it again here. We were in London immediately following 9/11 and the people there and throughout Europe were experiencing 9/11 as "the crime against humanity." So Al Qaeda was PUBLIC ENEMY #1! Our courses of action soon made the USA PUBLIC ENEMY #1.
The latter part of Chomsky's post deals with how Bin Laden was eliminated and disposed. I happen to support what we did to and with him and disagree with Chomsky on this issue.
I am thinking of all the possible good we could have done with the money we've spent on the wars in IRAQ and Afghanistan. And how the world might have responded including the Muslim world to those who committed "the crime against humanity."
