I digress... with my "Maine Man Al"

My "Maine Man Al" wrote his first piece of the new year, Bad As Me, and I resonated with it so I wanted to share my thinking in this post.

He asserts: "That’s because I understand the only economic principle normal people need to know:

The Law of Low Expectations."

I've never called my fiscal stance "low expectations" but that's what it is and it goes together with:

never having taken an economics course, 

never having listened to the marketing side of any organization (the optimists), 

being a realist (my wife would say pessimist) which means I am usually listening to the accounting side of organizations, 

and knowing that what happens above and beyond my "low expectations" is luck or a blessing and should be shared with those not so lucky or blessed.

My "Maine Man Al" I think would say that all levels of government should budget this way!!!  It certainly has worked for me.
